BOOKS BY RONALD LEE CHRISTOPHER

A TROOP, 9TH CAVALRY

The Boldest Cavalrymen the World has ever known.

I was at the Ranger Department in Fort Benning, Georgia when I got orders for Vietnam. The only thought I had was, if they could not win this war then how could I? I landed in Vietnam on September 3, 1966 and was immediately scoffed up by the 1st Cavalry Division Sergeant Major. I was taken to the Division G3 where my duties would be, the Classified Documents NCO. I was a senior NCO, Ranger and I am wondering what the hell am I doing here? After 2 weeks of getting that office squared away I walked over to the 1st Squadron, 9th Cavalry. I talked to the boss of the 9th about being transferred to his unit. It was a combat unit. He said to me, "you are married with children and you are presently pretty safe, what do you want to come over here for?" The 9th was famous for body bags. So I replied, if you don't get me over here I am going home. It took Lt. Colonel Jim Smith exactly 2 days to get a replacement from his unit to trade for me. My thinking was, I am a Ranger, what am I doing behind a desk in division headquarters? I ended up with A Troop, 9th Cavalry Squadron, a Reconnaissance unit. Find the enemy, fix em in place, call for help and kill em. I was the squad leader of the 2nd Squad, the assistant Platoon Sergeant and occasionally the platoon sergeant. The first Lieutenant I had was okay but the second one was trouble. Hence, my second book, Above All Else.

ABOVE  ALL  ELSE

American Gguerilla Fighters of the First Cavalry Division

I was summoned to the 1st Cavalry Division's rear in Ankhe by the G2 to be interviewed about a Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol. I had just come out of the jungle patrolling with the 9th Cavalry Reconnaissance platoon. I was a senior NCO, 28 years old and I was suffering with a broken back. But being a Ranger I just could not see surrendering to a broken back. Anyway, I accepted the mission as told by the G2 (which was very little). Seems the only person who knew anything about Long Range Patrols was me. I spell out how I built  the LRRP unit from ground up, training my team of 4 other troopers and running experimental missions of 7 day 8 night missions living off our backs and we did so with no support whatsoever. "If you get into trouble Chris, you are on your own," were the words of the LRRP commander. And then this, "if you do not stay, there will be no LRRP). We stayed. So after three of these experimental missions in January 1967 I and my team conducted the first, 1st Cavalry Division's official LRRP mission. ln this book I tell how it was all done and who the 2 people were that helped me accomplish what I set out to do. I started with nothing but a piece of land with 2 foot tall grass.  The odds were against me so some said but in December of 67 we became Co E, 52nd Infantry and in February 1969 we became Co H, 75th Infantry (Ranger) and today we are the 2nd Ranger Battalion.  Not too bad for a lone soldier in Nov 1966.

BUMBLEBEE MOUNTAIN

Running after our souls

I had some fun with this book. It is the only fiction I have written. There are a lot of veterans, from several countries, together on a cargo ship, which hauls contraband to foreign countries. All the characters in the book are true. What seems the one thing that unites them is, they are trying to find their souls. I end up on this ship because it is heading in the direction that I am going, west.  Unknown to me, my former LRRP (pronounced Lurp) team is banding together to come after me. But what happens to all these veterans is outstanding.

A QUESTION UNANSWERED PTSD

The brain is a very powerful organ

The human brain resembles a computer. What the eyes see, the ears hear, what the nose smell and what touching feels like is all logged in the brain, somewhere. Most of it is in the subconscious where when needed, it is brought forth into the conscious. I have heard many veterans say that they have PTSD. I have asked what is PTSD and I was informed that it is Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. When I asked what that was, I was told, it is PTSD. So, there is no medical definition to the term PTSD, thus does it exist and does it remain a Question Unanswered. This complaint began in 1980, long after the Vietnam War and it was created by a psychiatrist who was himself a veteran but he did so because he was anti Vietnam and of course, a lot of money in his pocket. Before putting fingers to key board to write this book I did a year of research and in that time it was sad to be told, when I asked what PTSD was, "go to hell." And then they would talk to me no further. PTDS is, for one thing, a lot of free money. So I was listening to the radio one day and this veteran was driving down Interstate 95, probably driving 80 miles an hour. He said that when he hear of the Veterans administration throwing left over arms and legs in the trash dump, it triggered his PTSD and sent him back to Vietnam. I ask, seeing as how he was back in Vietnam, what happened to his car?

COMING OF THE STORM CLOUDS

Something bad always happens during a storm

This is  the true story about my grandmother, a lady that I truly loved. It contains what she told me, plus what my mother told me and of course, what I observed myself. By the way, my mom was an outstanding lady. So, my grandmother's life began  while she was living among an Indian Tribe and a Klavern group. At the end of the civil war the federal government ordered the KKK to pay taxes. They refused thus dissolving, but they did not dissolve; they merely broke up into small groups and called themselves Klaverns. Grandma's mother make moonshine to pacify the two faction. If you do not believe in omens and ghosts I think when you end this book, you will rethink your thoughts. My great grandmother was an evil woman. She was also arrested for making moonshine after moving to Everett but the local sheriff, with the urging of several higher ups in the social sphere, bailed her out of jail because they had no where else to buy their whiskey.

BLACK  ROBES

When the government decides to destroy families they so with lies

A friend of mine in Wichita said to me, "I am an avid reader and this is the best book I have ever read." I cannot argue with that except I think all of my books are fantastic, but then again, I am the author. Black Robes is the true story of how a State government will go to any length to destroy a family. Lies be damned. A child was being molested and the local government was on the side of the molester. The molester was the mother of the child. In order to protect this child judges were sued and criminal charges were filed against therm. Lawyers were sued and criminal charges were filed against them. State officials were sued and criminal charges were filed against them. And then finally, a few words of wisdom was imparted to the new judge, listen and watch because if you don't, people are going to die. After serving over 23 years, and fought a war for my country, I ran into a brick wall of liars. I was a former US Army Counterintelligence Agent, a Federal Investigator and a former police officer. I could not believe what was going on. Peace hell, this was WAR.

On the cover of this book, the judge is holding a bloodied sword in her left hand and a broken scale of justice in her right hand.

HANG YOUR HAT ON A STAR

When your child is seriously ill

The picture is me, our two sons and my wife of 59 years. It was taken in 1963, the year Kennedy was killed. This true story is about the little guy with his hand on my shoulder. He had a Wilms Tumor when he was 2 years 9 months old. We were in Germany at the time. The operation to remove the tumor was so important that the Surgeon General of the US flew to Stuttgart to oversee removal of the kidney which had become the tumor. There was very little known about the Wilms tumor at the time and children were dying from this tumor. Bruce lived, grew up and got a job at a news printing company. The toxic chemicals in the inks and solvents killed his other kidney. After 5 years on dialysis, we moved to Florida because, "he can get a kidney transplant faster in Florida." Bruce lived with us. We took care of him. He even went on and got his BS degree. We had problems with him in high school because he wanted to be outdoors hunting and fishing but he graduated. The kidney transplant caused him problems. I finally talked him into writing a book about his life. He got 2 chapters done. I thought it best that I finish his book for him. He had a tremendous life.

LURPS AT WAR, VIETNAM

First Cavalry Division LRRP History

This is the history of the First Cavalry Division's Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol (LRRP). LRRP is pronounced LURP. At least that is what we all said so that is good enough for me. I even called our first dog, Lurp. Anyway, the Cavalry LRRP began in November 1966 with nothing more than a piece of ground covered with 2 foot high grass. For 2 months the LRRP unit was being constructed by one person. On January 1967 this one person trained an experimental team of four other troopers. On January 7 the first experimental LRRP team was inserted into the An Loa Valley. All the  missions of this team were 7 days in duration with no support whatsoever. Making this all work the first official mission was on February 2, 1967. Through the years, the unit was renamed from 1st Cav LRRP to Co E, 52nd Infantry to Co H, 75th Infantry (Ranger) Today, we are the 2nd Ranger Battalion. The personal stories of the Cavalry's  Lurps are written in this book.

         BRIDGES IN BETWEEN

Oh for a book to read

so in my lonely days

I can learn the better or the worst.

Maybe I'll learn of life's beginning,

or life's end,

and see for myself the bridges in between.

This was my stab at poetry. It is published in the International book of poetry.

BEYOND PLUTO

419dqph3lHL._AC_US218_[1].jpg

My work involves what was, what is taking shap, what is to come and the end.

I have based my work on my own experiences of some time ago, what I have seen take shape in the United States and the rest of the world.

I have also set herein the possible destruction avenues of this planet.

With everything that is happening and all that God is going to use, His seals and vials, I have put together my own conclusion of the end of the earth and very possibly the creation of hell.

What is coming is Beyond Pluto.
